What a day and its only 11:35

(This blog is a joint effort of my co-teacher, Jenny and our para, Rosie)

Question:
Is it possible to be defeated by 25 kindergarten students.....

Answer:
Today, yes.

7:40: Before school even starts, we have a student who has already had an accident and parents refuse to come and give them a change of clothes... child is crying.

7:45: Office secretary enters classroom to inform us that 3 of our kindergarteners have proceeded to beat up a 5th grader (Seriously.... not making this up). The 5th grader was very distraught and wished that he hadn't worn shorts today.

8:00: Take these 3 students up to principal's office where principal threatens to call the police... Never seen such scared kids in my life.

8:15: Student who already had to go to principal's office, continues to misbehave and won't stop talking. Goes back to principal's office. He was hyper-ventilating on the way up the stairs .

8:20: Get a call from a 6th grade teacher and asks us if we can go and get them some caffine. Apparently we aren't the only ones having a bad day.

8:30: Situation happens that I can't write about.

8:45: Finished our venti Starbucks... need more now!

9:00: Future Kindergarten parents want to come and observe today.... really... bad timing.

9:15: Another visit to Mr. Miller, so thankful that we like him... turn in 3 referral forms.

9:30: Why are the lights in the hallway off? ... oh because the lightbulbs in the hallway are smoking.

11:00: Parent in our classroom crying about student behavior. She just got back from a visit with Mr. Miller.

Stay tuned for the afternoon excitement. If its anything like yesterday it will include scratching teachers, hiding in bathroom, throwing chairs, and a massive delievery of cookie dough.

Anyone want our job?!

This is going to make a great chapter in our novel of Kindergarten.

Good thing, I leave for Seattle tonight. Good luck Jenny and Rosie! Have fun without me!
