A much needed break

A friend of ours, Nikki, is preparing to go home to the UK and she came up with the idea of going on a retreat for two days. This suggestion came at just the right time, when we were in need of a break. We went to a place called Francos, located on its own private beach. We basically had the whole beach to ourselves. Finding a quiet place is hard here in Freetown, because everywhere you go people are always asking for something or calling out white woman. After a while it becomes really draining, and you just need to be able to get away from it all to become refreshed. So we did...
We were the only ones around and were really able to find time to rest. We had hot showers (my favorite part), cold drinks, and good food. Not to mention a gorgeous view of the ocean. I am so thankful that we were able to rest so that we can continue doing the work that the Lord has called us to do. And for a chance to worship the Lord in the beauty of his creation. I am continually blown away by the beauty in this country.
And... if anyone is tired of the freezing cold and the snow, you can come and visit!!!
